At the conclusion of one of my courses, Creative Arts Forum, we were tasked with developing a project plan for our Senior Capstone project in our final semester at Agnes Scott College.
Creative Arts Forum invited local arts professionals to share their career and life paths with the class. I engaged with professionals from a variety of careers and origins, and I learned so much about the different paths available to arts students.
After meeting these professionals, we embarked on a proposal for a Senior Capstone project. We took what we learned about time management, project scope, and pursuing passions to develop a collaborative and exciting project.
I decided to expand upon the resources we have available for select works of art in the Dalton Gallery permanent collection. My hope is to make art historical information accessible to students or community members that may not have a foundation of understanding or prior knowledge. I plan to develop a series of short research articles, with citations, that will be posted on the website for the permanent collection under each artwork.
I developed a plan to complete the work within the 14 weeks of my final semester and I was sure to build in time to collect feedback from faculty and peers to make sure I stay on track with keeping the research relevant and useful.
