A Homeowner’s Fear (Short Story)

Danny walked into his new home happy to be a new homeowner. He was taking in the new home smell as he threw out the last moving box. He was quite perplexed by how run-down it looked at first but knew that everything was just a simple fix.

Before Danny knew it the night was there and sleep was calling his name. Little did he know that he was in for an awakening when all of a sudden a breeze came in from a window that was once closed.

He was confused but closed the window once again and decided to get a glass of water to calm down. To his surprise a glass was already fixed. He took a sip not realizing that was his worst mistake. Next second he began to choke, learning the water had glass particles inside. As he collapses on the ground he watches as the walls of the room were closing in on him. Barely able to breathe as the wall gets closer and closer he then soon learns why the window was open and how glass got into his water but he was too late. Before he could get the words out the walls crushed him.

Morning came and the house was empty once again. It was as if Danny never moved in or existed for that matter because the realtor that once sold Danny the house walked in with a smile knowing that once again he could sell the house to another unfortunate person and the house will do its job. Killing the homeowner once more.
